I'm Growing My Hair Out!!!

Farreal this time!!!

If you have been around me for the past three months, you probably heard me yapping my gums about growing my hair out while at the same time seeing me make no hesitation to cut my hair. Well the reason why I keep saying Im going to grow my hair out, but keep failing to actually do so is because Im a punk when it comes to this, and I really REALLY love my hair short! Its the bestest most easiestest thing in the world and no one in their right mind would give it up for hair. lol.
Thats my story n I'm sticking to it!

Even though I have talked myself out of growing my hair out about 6 times in the past 3 months, I have talked myself into doing it this time by connecting my hair growth to my blog. Im going to do a healthy hair growth/rapid hair growth experiment type thing.
Everyday, for one year, Im going to...
  1.  take my vitamines
  2. drink 8 glasses of water each day
  3. massage my scalp
  4. keep my hair twisted or braided up (when I get some hair that can be gripped),
  5. deep condition once a week, and the most important part is that Im not going to cut my hair at all (not even to shape it so that it fits my face)

..HUHHH BOYYY!!!!

I aint gon lie, Im scared because I haven't done my hair in over a year! lol. But Imma "make it happen and not excuses"

Ok so here's how we're gonna do this, Im gonna take pictures to show you guys my weekly progress and tell you how my hair week went. Meaning telling you how well I did with sticking to my "hair diet" and any updates that yall cant see with the pictures. Sometimes I'll put up videos (most likely when I get enough hair to do different styles. And I'll also show you guys what products Im trying. I'll do reviews and what-not too!

Bellow I have a few pictures of my hair at its current state. I got it cut pretty low and shaped up to try to get all the blonde out so I could grow it out dye free. You will probably still see a few stray blondes in there but its my natural color for the most part.

Alright, so I took these pictures this morning before I went to work so this is basically bed hair for me!
I'm gon miss this bed hair!
Last night i washed and conditioned my hair. Then I put in Jane Carter Solution's "Re-vitalizing Leave in Conditioner" along with my Palmers Olive oil spray. Every night I make sure to sleep with a satin pillow case so the fabric of my pillow-case doesn't dry my hair out.

If you guys have any questions on my hair "hair growth" diet let me know!

Beautiful Creations

Hey lovies!
Today I had a day off from work so I decided to spend some time with my girl Sharla. Her visit was extra special to me because we just sat and talked about the things that we wanted to do in life and different projects we were focusing on. During our visit we checked out each other's blogs and a few other cool sites we like. Now I knew that Sharla was a very talented artist because she recently gave me a canvas that she painted and I absolutely loved it! But when I went to her blog where she had pictures of a few of her pieces   I was blown away at how amazingly beautiful her pieces were! Like seriously, I couldn't stop talking about it, and I was just showing her work off to anyone who came through the door as if it was a work of my own. LOL. But seriously, shawty got skills!

Right before she showed me the site, she told me that she would be selling her work for a GREAT price (11'14 for $50 bucks) so that she could expand her own ability and to expand her portfolio. She's doing custom pieces as well as selling some of the pieces that are seen on her blog so be sure to contact her while the pieces are at such a good price!

Her email is: sharla_goals@yahoo.com

The face behind the work. Ms. Sharla!

Here's  little taste...

Are you drooling yet???
Because this was about the point when I started!

This pic look familiar to some???

Its The Creator herself!!! Aminah Mussa

She's another amazingly gifted friend of mine who is a designer, or should I say CREATOR!

You can buy her pieces at http://shop.yanghi.com/

On our way to get some ice-cream, we decided to stop and check out this natural foods store around the corner from my apartment, while we loved the fact that we found a new spot to get organic fruits and veggies, we probably more fascinated by the artwork that was all over the walls and stairs on the way up to the organic juice bar that was upstairs.

Since the stairwell was so cute, it would only be right to whip out the iPhone for a mini photo shoot. :D

Be sure to go to her blog (http://biggest-vice.tumblr.com/) to get the info so you can put your order in asap!

Also friend request her on fb so that you will get the updates on her fan-page that she's currently working on!

and if you have any questions email her at sharla_goals@yahoo.com

Until next time Beauties!!!

Face Time

I come from a family where makeup is rarely worn and when it is, its usually only for special occasions. My mother didn't even let my sister and I wear makeup until we were 16 and even then we didn't wear it very often. My sister always said that makeup is only for people who don't think they are beautiful so we don't need it. I always felt differently about make up though. I felt like it was like an accessory and it could be used to enhance one's beauty. So once I was allowed to wear makeup I definitely started doing research on it. However, for some reason I never had the desire to get really deep into makeup because I always see people over-do it and I wanted to make sure I wasn't one of those people! I started out just wearing eyeliner, mascara, a few eye-shadow colors and lip gloss. I actually stuck to those few things for about 3 years. It was not until recently that I even purchased a bottle of foundation. I was starting from scratch and had no clue as to what to buy. All I knew was that I didn't want my face looking cakey or ashy. I started my next step in the wonderful world of makeup about a year ago, and I think its time for me to step it up a notch. Not too much, just a smidget....

These are the basic make-up items that I use every once in a while...

This handful of items along with some lipstick every now and then does the trick...

I don't know if you noticed, but I don't use concealer because I heard that it makes dark circles around your eyes after a while. I don't really think I need it anyway. But I use tweezerman L.T.D. tweezers, Ecotools foundation brush, I usually use a maybelline eyeliner but I used it all up, n I just use a wet n wild eyebrow pencil to color and shape my brows, and I use a basic kabuki brush for my blush and powder applications

I use maybelline dreame matte mousse blush in "cloud wine", Loreal Studio secrets perfcting primer, Maybline Dream Liquid mousse foundation in cocoa Dark 3, I just got this Revlon Color Stay Mineral Mousse foundation in "Deepest", and I use Revlon ColorStay Mineral Finishing powder in "Sunkiss", I also pair my maybelline mousse cloud wine blush with a MAC Frost powder blush for extra warmth.

I use covergirl lashblast volume mascara and a basic lancome natural tones mini pallet

This is the perfect nude lipgloss its Loreal color juice "Pina colada". You don't need to pair it with lipstick, no white line, thick, not too sticky, its perfect (especially for us chocolate beauties!)

It takes a little bit of that and nothing more to give me this look, which is one of my favs, not too much and not too little....

I got alot of make-up cheapies while I was just starting out and experimenting, but I am starting to get together a collection of better quality items such as Make-up Forever, and Bobbi Brown as a way to enhance my collection. As I broaden my horizons with this make-up stuff, I will be sure to keep you guys posted!!!

Brights!

One of my first attempts at bright brights...
Oversized mens shirt, Patterned harem pants, cut out wedgies!

We Be Wedgin

My second love after the chunky heel is the wedge. With summer quickly approaching, its about time to do some serious shoe shopping for the season. While doing some online shopping I found some fabulous wedges.
